The Keystone College Juvenile Justice Institute is dedicated to improving the lives of youth and families through development and implementation of evidence-based, trauma-responsive programs designed to strengthen communities and promote peaceful conflict resolution, toward the goal of reducing juvenile crime, avoiding incarceration, and enhancing community adjustment.

Program Components
- Trauma-informed/trauma-responsive practices:
Recognizing the widespread experience of trauma and toxic stress, and providing children/youth with tools to effectively cope with those experiences - Restorative practices:
- Establishing a foundation for healthy communities by improving and repairing interpersonal relationships
Specific Programming Elements
- Assist students in “trauma-release” processes (dancing, rhythm/clapping games, etc.)
- Assist students in “self-regulation” processes (guided meditation, yoga, breathing exercises, etc.)
- Restorative practices (circle discussions – identifying emotions, identifying physical sensations, problem solving, social skills, etc.)
- Student mentoring (homework help, projects, individual connection)

Keystone College Observatory Announces Spring Sessions
The Keystone College Thomas G. Cupillari ’60 Astronomical Observatory will offer an 8-week spring schedule which begins on March 19.
Keystone College Remains Accredited and Appeal Cancelled
Keystone College has received notification from its accreditor, Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), that, effective February 27, MSCHE has “placed the institution into the status of non-compliance show cause” which is a change from the previous status of “accreditation withdrawn under appeal.” Additionally, since the College remains accredited while on show cause, this action eliminates the need for the pending appeal of the MSCHE adverse action. The appeal hearing was scheduled for March 31.
